Vegan Cooking Classes

A Vegan is a person who does not eat meat or animal products such as milk, cheese and eggs. Vegan cooking is the art of making nutritious, delicious food solely from fruits, vegetable, legumes and other plants and plant products. Those who are learning how to cook vegan foods for the first time can find plenty of good vegan recipes and even cooking classes.

There are different types of vegan classes from which to choose. Some classes teach individuals how to make a wide variety of dishes. Alternatively, there are classes that focus on teaching a particular type of cooking, such as how to make vegan desserts or how to prepare fruits and vegetables in a tasty, healthy way.

Northeast Classes

The Strengthening Health Institute in Pennsylvania offers a variety of classes. Some are only a day long while others can be attended every weekend for several months. The Institute is located at 1149 North 3rd Street in Philadelphia.

Midwest Classes

The website offers online and on location classes. Matthew Kenney offers two levels of cooking classes. There are five classes provided per week for four weeks, no matter which level a person chooses. The institute is based in Oklahoma City.

The Knoxville Vegan Supper Club offers monthly classes for members. The November 2012 class is scheduled to take place at the Knoxville First Seventh Day Adventist Church at 3611 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN.

Ching Animal Farm Sanctuary offers vegan cooking classes on the fourth Sunday of every month. The classes are held at 656 E. 200 South, Salt Lake City.

Vegan Classes in the South

Kristen’s Raw Food Consultation and Raw Lifestyle Coaching Center offers vegan classes in Scottsdale, Arizona. The classes are held at various locations; visit for schedule information on upcoming classes.

The Natural Epicurean Academy of Culinary Arts offers a 900-hour cooking course that includes extensive vegan cooking classes. This course is scheduled to start on January 7. The address is 1700 South Lamar Blvd., Austin, Texas.

The vegan lifestyle is a healthy one, as it helps a person avoid the additives, preservatives, hormones and other substances found in foods commonly sold at local supermarkets and grocery stores. Taking the time to learn how to cook vegan foods properly is well worth it the effort.
